AI-assisted hacking is already here, Google warns
Google says it may have found the first known case of cybercriminals using AI to identify and exploit an undisclosed zero-day flaw.
Axios reports that Google’s threat intelligence division says it observed signs that cybercrime groups used AI-generated code to help find and exploit a previously unknown vulnerability in a Python script. Google says the attempt was blocked and the vendor was notified, but it warns this is an early sign that AI can meaningfully accelerate real-world vulnerability discovery and exploitation.
